This product can be shipped. Dionaea Muscipula 'Big Mouth" This stunning cultivar is characterized by its short, horizontal leaf bases (petioles) and deep red large traps. The shorter leaves really emphasize the large traps which reach up to 2.5 cm in length! The traps turn a lipstick red with extended periods of sunlight. The beautiful plant will add a dash of color and curiosity to any carnivorous plant garden. PLEASE NOTE: All plants are sent loose/bare rooted. We take all plants from their pots and shake off the excess peat moss that they are growing in. We then wrap the roots in moist sphagnum moss. The plants are wrapped in plastic bags to keep the roots moist, with their name tags tied to each bag. All bags are then placed in a cardboard box and posted to you by Australia Post. We DO NOT ship plants in pots, so make sure you have the correct pots and potting medium to pot them when you receive them.

The throat of the pitcher turns blood red while the rest of the pitcher is yellow green. The red coloration fades into speckles up the lid and down the mouth of the pitcher. It’s no wonder it’s sometimes referred to as the ‘cut throat pitcher plant’. New pitchers are lime green turning yellowish as they mature. A unique and must have variety that is sure to impress!
